The Turn Around

Wednesday Hump Day sounds funny, but like an out and back run it marks the turn around to the work week. Today is National Running Day! My partner for this afternoon's run had to work late, I worked late, then the night got a little crazy with helping friends with furniture rearranging. Did I mention that my kids are on such a schedule that we went into full melt down mode at 8:30 because we weren't home yet. Alas, it is 10:35 PM and I am just now going out for a quick run. By quick, I mean that I will be lucky to get in 2 miles. However, since it is NATIONAL RUNNING DAY, I will lace up the sneakers, grab the leashes and go out for at least a little something with my neglected four legged companions.

Day 6 Recap 06.01.10

  1. Compliment: I am committed (10:00 PM swim workout)
  2. 3 sets of abs before my pool work out
  3. Spent 31 minutes, ahem, ended up being 45 minutes getting ready for Saturday's Sprint Tri
  4. Calories: 1875 minus the 633 estimated calories burned=1242. I did eat after 8:00, but something small and high protein. It was a responsible choice for post workout recovery and less than 130 calories.
  5. Looked in the mirror. Smiled. I looked while in my racing suit, hubby smiled too. Awesome compliment.

Day 7 Recap 06.02.10

  1. Compliment: I identify problems and suggest quality ways to address them
  2. 3 sets of...you name it! It was an awesome workout day, lunges, step ups, crawls, sit ups, weights etc...
  3. Spent 31 minutes: watching "Losing It" on the DVR. Ok, but not sure I'll be able to get into the show
  4. Calories: 1719 minus the 141 estimated calories burned=1579.
  5. Looked in the mirror. Smiled, but felt kinda blah. Not bad, but nothing? Weird? I think I am not so patient when it comes to results. I want my abs to feel as awesome as my mind feels after a workout.
Thankful Three

  1. Hello?! It's Wednesday of a 4 day week! 2 down 2 to go
  2. For strength training
  3. For all of a sudden not liking lots of the crap that was making me fat. Do taste buds really change that much? (example: Lemon Cake as recently as January was delicious, as of Sunday, um, nothing special good, but so not worth it)

Taste buds and senses change. The smell of McDonald's fries makes me want to vomit.

Good for you for counting calories! I want to do that, but not enough to actually do it.

Another great couple of days, way to be committed to your life changes. I don't think I like Losing it either. I watched it last night and was not really impressed. Keep up the great work!

Good luck at your Sprint Tri! I am sure you will kill it!
